Our “Sister” Non-Profit (501c3)
Why two different companies?
When establishing my business plan, I aimed to maintain my 501©(3) nonprofit status to utilize volunteers and have a separate board dedicated to the welfare of the elderly in our community. My vision was to create an organization that could fill the gaps left by standard home health agencies, providing services such as meals, ramps, and sitter services. I wanted it to be a comprehensive resource for all elderly needs in our community, ensuring we are not like other areas with limited resources for their senior citizens.
As many of you know, a nonprofit is essentially owned by its board, not by any individual. My goal was to create a mission-driven organization, not focused on personal income but on serving our elderly. This mission remains: to see every elderly person not just as our “grey-haired” peers but as individuals crowned with “glory” by our Creator (Proverbs 16:31).
In addition, I wanted to establish a for-profit side that I could own and oversee, staffing trained Registered Nurses, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, and meeting all state requirements. From the beginning, my pledge has been that this endeavor is not about money but about the mission. However, I recognize the need to generate income to support my family, provide good salaries for our employees, and plan for the future. My goal is to reinvest as much profit as possible from Grey to Glory Home Health into the “sister” Grey to Glory nonprofit to offer these essential services to our community.
What kinds of things can the Non-Profit side offer?
Well I am so glad you asked! I have big dreams for this organization. I will first start with the things we are currently able to do and then explain more of what the plans are in the future (as funds began to become more available)
Currently Available Services
1. Weekly/Every other Week Meal Delivery Services:
One of the things I frequently noticed while visiting homes was the lack of fresh meals available. Often, we would see a lot of TV dinners or canned food. These easy and convenient options are what many of our elderly are eating on a daily basis. Thankfully, our communities have Senior Citizen Centers that offer freshly cooked meals during the week, but these usually require the elderly to visit the center. Another option is Meals on Wheels, which is a great resource I have helped patients set up, but it provides frozen meals.
Through Grey to Glory Inc. (non-profit), we offer an opportunity for volunteers or employees to give back by providing the elderly with hot, freshly made meals delivered right to their door. While we would love to offer this service daily, it is not feasible at this time. This service is reserved for those aged 65 and older, who are mostly confined to their homes, and who have limited family assistance. We prioritize those with the most urgent needs, as the number of slots is limited.
Applications are available at our office for pickup, or you can call to request one be emailed to you. We also have applications for those who wish to volunteer for this service.
2. House/Yard Cleaning Services:
Caring for elderly grandparents or parents can be a challenging task. I often wonder how my own grandfather manages to make such a mess in his house! Just like the young, the elderly also make messes and need help cleaning up.
We have partnered with the local Earthen Vessels Women’s Recovery Center, where the ladies, under the supervision of their counselors, are assisting us in providing this much-needed help to several elderly individuals in our community. Grey to Glory Inc. will pay a small fee to support this wonderful program, enabling us to offer this benefit locally. Additionally, we will utilize volunteers, if available, to provide further assistance. Yard work is an excellent volunteer opportunity for local youth church groups or those seeking volunteer hours for school.
This service is reserved for those aged 65 and older who have limited assistance from family or friends. Please call or stop by to get information about potential clients or to volunteer.
3. DME & Consumable Products (Incontinence Care):
A common question I receive when working in patients’ homes is, “Do you provide incontinence products such as diapers and wipes?” Unfortunately, my answer is always “No.” Due to the current benefits payable under Medicare and Managed Care “Replacement Plans,” standard home health agencies cannot bill for and do not provide these products. Unless the patient has a supplemental insurance plan that covers these benefits, the cost of these essential products becomes an out-of-pocket expense for patients and caregivers. Finding assistance from nonprofits can be challenging, especially in small rural communities where such organizations are scarce and often lack the financial means to extend their reach.
Grey to Glory Inc. uses donations from our generous supporters to purchase diapers, wipes, pads, walkers, wheelchairs, canes, and other necessary items. These can be distributed intermittently or monthly to those in need.
To prevent misuse of this benefit, consumable goods will be distributed in limited quantities on a monthly basis. This approach allows us to assist as many individuals as possible. While it may not be a complete solution, as the saying goes, “Every little bit helps.”
Anyone wishing to donate can drop off at 11288 NW State Road 20 Bristol FL 32321. Receipts for tax purposes will be given upon request.
4. Little Miss Traveling Nail Salon:
At Grey to Glory, we believe in spreading joy and love through every service we provide. One of our most heartwarming initiatives is the Little Miss Traveling Nail Salon. This unique program brings together a group of young girls, accompanied by adult sponsors, to travel around the community and offer manicures to elderly ladies. But our mission goes beyond just nail care; we aim to share God’s love and brighten the days of those we visit.
Our young volunteers, affectionately known as the “Little Misses,” are passionate about making a difference. They learn valuable life skills, such as empathy, patience, and the joy of giving back to the community. With the guidance of their adult sponsors, they gain confidence and a sense of purpose, knowing that their small acts of kindness have a big impact.
The Little Miss Traveling Nail Salon is more than just a mobile beauty service. It’s a way for our young volunteers to connect with the elderly, offering them not only a touch of beauty but also companionship and kindness. Each visit is filled with laughter, stories, and heartfelt conversations, creating a special bond between generations.
The smiles and gratitude we receive from the elderly ladies we visit are priceless. Many of them look forward to our visits, not just for the pampering but for the genuine connection and love they experience. It’s a beautiful reminder that sometimes, the simplest gestures can make the biggest difference.

4. Ramps:
Grey to Glory Inc. plans to establish a dedicated fund for the construction of code-compliant ramps. In the past, several churches have generously volunteered their time and effort, and we intend to continue this collaboration. Additionally, we plan to partner with licensed contractors who will be available to build a certain number of ramps each year.
Given the high cost of these projects, recipients will be asked if they can contribute any amount of financial aid to help with the construction. This approach ensures that we can extend this valuable service to as many individuals as possible.
5. Respite Care:
My vision is to rent a facility, such as a church, gym, or civic center, once a week or every other week to provide respite care for Alzheimer’s and dementia patients in our community. I have seen similar systems work effectively in other local communities, and the need for such a service is significant.
Caregiver burnout is a state of physical, emotional, and mental exhaustion that can occur when someone dedicates their time and energy to managing the health and safety of another person. A respite center would offer a safe place for caregivers to drop off their loved ones for a few hours during the day, allowing them to nap, rest, run errands, or simply decompress once a week.
Grey to Glory Inc. plans to staff this center with both volunteers and paid workers to ensure it is managed safely and effectively on a weekly or monthly basis.
6. Sitters:
If you are not already aware, there are two types of home health services: skilled and non-skilled. Grey to Glory Home Health provides skilled services, which are covered by insurance. These include medication management, disease process education, assistance with IV antibiotics, catheter management, and more.
Grey to Glory Inc. (nonprofit) will eventually offer non-skilled services that are not covered by insurance. These services include bathing assistance, daytime sitting to provide aid, running errands around town, and similar tasks. Grey to Glory Inc. will employ Certified Nursing Assistants to provide these services and will also offer them for a small fee to those who can contribute towards the cost.
At this time Grey to Glory Inc. can provide you with a list of private duty sitters who have been vetted by our Board, and who we would trust with our patients.
As the LORD blesses, we will continue to provide aide to our elderly in whatever way we can. Please stop by for more information or give me a call.
How Can You Help?
Pray
The best way you can help this organization be everything that I feel God has allowed me to do, is to pray. Pray that God would send the best and most compassionate workers and volunteers. Pray that God would allow us to be His hands and feet by offering needed aid. Pray that God would open doors for us to witness to those who may not have a relationship with him. Pray that God would give me clarity when making decisions. King Solomon prayed for wisdom and understanding and that has been my prayer from the very beginning. God give me wisdom to know what is right and what is wrong. God help me to lead in a manner worthy of your calling on my life. God help me to understand that life isn’t about me, it is all about Jesus and making sure that I use my life for his eternal kingdom.
Request Us
The second most important thing you can do is to choose local when seeking skilled services such as medication management, IV therapy, catheter care, disease process education, and therapy. By selecting Grey to Glory Home Health, you not only receive top-quality care but also support the funding of additional services provided by our nonprofit side, Grey to Glory Inc., alongside donations.
Our area has many home health competitors, but the choice is entirely yours; not even your doctor can decide for you. It is your legal right to choose the agency you prefer. Our agency is accredited and licensed, fully equipped to meet all your needs. Please give us the opportunity to serve you.
Volunteer
The need is great, and the workers are few. We invite you to volunteer with us. Whether it’s cooking and delivering a fresh meal, cleaning a house, or picking up a yard, your help can make a significant difference. Please stop by for an application. We have been praying for God to send you!
